Exam Tips from Arbind Sir, Managing Director of Arbind Singh Academy, for BITSAT Aspirants
Dear Students,
As the BITSAT exam approaches, I want to share some essential tips and strategies to help you perform at your best. You’ve worked hard, and now it’s time to fine-tune your preparation and approach. Here are my key pieces of advice:
1. Understand the Exam Pattern
- Total Questions: 130 questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.
If any candidate attempts all 130 questions of this entrance exam in less than three hours then he/she will be allowed to attempt additional 12 questions within the remaining time. The additional questions will be from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology sections and Logical Reasoning only. From each section, only three questions will be given. However, any candidate who chooses to answer these extra 12 exam questions will not be allowed to go back and make any changes to the previously answered 130 questions. Biology subject will be for those students who opt to take admission in pharmacy. - Marking Scheme: Each correct answer awards 3 marks, and each incorrect answer deducts 1 mark. There is no partial marking.
2. Time Management
- Allocate Time Wisely: Spend about 40 minutes on each subject initially. Adjust based on your strengths and weaknesses.
- Avoid Getting Stuck: If a question is taking too long, mark it for review and move on. You can always come back to it later.

3. Focus on Accuracy
- Negative Marking: Be cautious with your answers. If you’re unsure, it’s better to leave a question than to guess and risk losing marks.
4. Revise Key Concepts
- Last-Minute Revision: Go through important formulas, concepts, and shortcuts. Ensure you have a strong grasp of fundamental topics.
- Error Analysis: Review your past mistakes from mock tests and practice papers to avoid repeating them.
5. Mock Tests and Practice
- Simulate Exam Conditions: Take full-length mock tests in a timed environment. This will help you get accustomed to the pressure and time constraints.
- Analyze Performance: After each mock test, analyze your performance thoroughly. Identify weak areas and work on them.
6. Stay Calm and Confident
- Maintain Composure: Anxiety can hinder your performance. Practice deep breathing or meditation to stay calm.
- Believe in Yourself: Confidence is key. Trust your preparation and approach the exam with a positive mindset.
7. Healthy Lifestyle
- Adequate Sleep: Ensure you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep before the exam day. A well-rested mind performs better.
- Balanced Diet: Eat nutritious food and stay hydrated. Avoid heavy meals before the exam to prevent sluggishness.

8. Exam Day Strategy
- Arrive Early: Reach the exam center well before time to avoid any last-minute stress.
- Read Instructions Carefully: Before starting the exam, read all the instructions and questions carefully.
- Stay Flexible: Be ready to adapt your strategy if needed. If a particular section seems tough, switch to another and return later.
9. During the Exam
- Prioritize Questions: Attempt questions you are most confident about first. This will boost your confidence and ensure you score easy marks.
- Regular Breaks: If time permits, take short mental breaks to relax and regain focus.
10. Post-Exam
- Relax and Reflect: Once the exam is over, take some time to relax. Reflect on your performance but don’t dwell on it.
Remember, the key to success is a balanced approach combining thorough preparation with a calm and composed mindset. You’ve put in the hard work, and now it’s time to show your potential.
Wishing you all the best for your BITSAT exam!
Warm regards,
Arbind Sir
